Session 1 Block (6 sessions) – 10:20 to 11:35 a.m.

This session will provide a high level overview and system demo of the campus’ new Work Management System that will be going live this summer. This will include a demo of the system’s customer request portal, the internal system, and the Work Management App that staff will use in the field.

Later this year, the campus will begin using a new computer system, WORKDAY, to update the campus human resource / human capital management, financial and student information systems. This includes employee payroll functions, timekeeping, leave requests, applying for jobs, PRD, training and general information! This system has many new features and will allow employees to make changes to their personal information, etc. Come learn about what the new system will do and how employees will be able to use the system. Hear it in English & Spanish.

This interactive session will explore what AI is, what are the pros and cons of using it and how it’s used in Student Affairs. You’ll learn about Large Language Models (LLMs) and how to use AI to improve your life.

A psychological safe space is a space where everyone is comfortable expressing thoughts, ideas, and concerns without fear of retribution or judgment. This workshop will include interactive activities, discussion and exercises aimed at building trust, improving communication and fostering a culture of respect within teams.

Congratulations, you’ve landed the job interview! The interview is your chance to discuss your skills and why YOU are the best candidate for the job! This session will review how to prepare in advance and be ready for the interview! It will cover how to share your experiences, skills and qualities, anticipate questions you might be asked and questions you should ask of the interviewer.

Floor Plans

Learning Day will take place in-person at the Brendan Iribe Center (see directions) on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Get familiar with the building and view the floor plans before your arrival.


Parking for Learning Day

Ample parking spaces are available in Lot 11 on Paint Branch Drive next to the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. Staff who work at the Service Building may park in their assigned Lot J parking on Diamondback Drive and make the short walk to the Brendan Iribe Center.
