Radon

Radon gas is generated by the radioactive decay of certain minerals in the ground. Nationally, regions where the presence of radon has been identified are generally well known. The geologic conditions in this part of Maryland are not known to contribute to the production of radon gas. Campus environmental safety staff took samples several years ago and confirmed the absence of any significant levels of radon.
